City Manager Receives Citizen of the Year Award

Congratulations to City Manager John N. Ogburn, III for receiving the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award at the Chamber's Annual Awards Ceremony. For the last 19 years, Ogburn has been responsible for more than 300 full-time employees and overseen operations of the police, fire, street maintenance, airport, water/sewer and the other departments. He is passionate about his city and has been at the forefront of many of its improvements during his tenure.

Ogburn has been a member of the International City/County Management Association, the NC City & County Management Association, Randolph Rotary Club, Hospice of Randolph County, Asheboro/Randolph Chamber, Randolph Health Foundation, Randolph County Economic Development Corporation and Archdale-Trinity Chamber. He has also received the Randall L. Billings Public Service Award presented by the Piedmont Triad Regional Council.
