CRIME REPORTING BY PHONE AND REQUESTING A POLICE REPORT
Due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, we encourage everyone to limit public exposure and take advantage of our crime reporting by phone opportunities. Officers will be taking reports over the phone from 8:00 a.m. thru 10:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday at the following phone number 336-626-1300 ext 337.
Examples of reports being taken are:
Damage to Property
Breaking & Entering to Vehicles/Outbuildings that have already occurred with no known suspects
Reports for Documentation Purposes
Anyone needing to speak with an officer

The Asheboro Police Department consists of 76 sworn officers and 8 civilian employees working together in three separate fields of operation to maintain an environment in which our citizens, workers, and visitors feel safe.
The Asheboro Police Department is comprised of four entities: Administration, Field Operations, Investigations, and Support Operations.
Includes the Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police, and the Administrative Staff. Their responsibilities include the day-to-day operations of the agency, policies and procedures, and Administrative Investigations that ensure the citizens of Asheboro are provided a professional police service.
The backbone of our department is Field Operations, which is directed by the Field Operations Captain, and consist of: Uniformed Patrol, Traffic Division, Community Resource Team (CRT), School Resource Officers (SRO), and Park Rangers.
Is directed by the Investigations Captain and includes Criminal Investigations Division, Vice/Narcotics Unit, Special Enforcement Team (SET), and the Evidence Unit.
Is directed by the Support Operations Captain who is responsible for recruitment and hiring of personnel, training, and equipment. Included in Support Operations are the Records Unit, Special Services, Animal Control, and D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).
