Message from the Chief

First and foremost, on behalf of the men and women of the Asheboro Fire Department (AFD), we thank you for your support and encouragement as we strive to exceed the expectations of the community.  We hope you find our webpage to be informative and helpful.

We are a servant oriented department that strives each and every day to make excellence a habit and not an act.  Asheboro Fire Fighters dedicate many hours of training both classroom and practicum to perfect their knowledge, skills, and abilities to better serve the community of Asheboro.

Everything we do is predicated on our mission, which entails providing service with compassion, professionalism, and dedication to the citizens and visitors of Asheboro, NC.

Since the establishment of AFD in 1911, our fundamental purpose for existence has been emergency services.  These services consist of, fire suppression activities, emergency medical services, and technical rescue; however, we continuously train for the unknown.

In addition, AFD is proud of its community outreach programs and takes great pride in the positive relationships we have built and continue to build in the community.  These relationships have helped enhance our fire prevention and educational programs and activities.

Our fire prevention and educational programs have proven to be successful over the years as we continue to see a decrease in the number of accidental and arson fires in our community.

I am humbled and honored to serve alongside the men and women of AFD, who are committed to serving with honor and compassion.   Again, thank you for visiting our webpage.

Sincerely,
Willie Summers, Fire Chief
