I am honored to serve as your Fire Chief and express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to protect and serve our beloved community. My top priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone who lives, works, visits, and participates in our city's vibrant activities. Since establishing the Asheboro Fire & Rescue Department (AFRD) in 1911, our core mission has been to provide comprehensive emergency services.
The Asheboro Fire & Rescue Department (AFRD) is a Class 1 department that responds to all risks and hazards. Our dedicated professionals take pride in serving Asheboro's residents, businesses, and visitors. We respond to various emergencies, including fires, medical incidents, vehicle accidents, water rescues, hazardous material situations, and other requests for assistance.
In addition to emergency response, we provide exceptional non-emergency services, such as public education, fire and life safety programs, fire investigations, community risk reduction initiatives, and various administrative functions.
Firefighters at the Asheboro Fire & Rescue Department (AFRD) commit substantial time to rigorous training, including classroom instruction and practical experience. This unwavering dedication enhances our knowledge, skills, and abilities, enabling us to serve the Asheboro community professionally and competently.
Our fire prevention and educational efforts have yielded commendable results over the years, significantly reducing the incidence of accidental and arson fires within our community.
