The Asheboro Fire Department (AFD) is a multi-faceted, all-hazards emergency response organization with a dedicated and committed workforce. The department is comprised of five divisions: Administration, Operations, Support Services, Fire and Life Safety, and the Training Division. AFD maintains an Insurance Service Office (ISO), of Class 3.
AFD responds to over 3,200 calls for service over a coverage area of 16.7 square miles a year. The department also protects the Asheboro Regional Airport. AFD continues to develop non-emergency, innovative ways to serve the community with the following programs: Smoke Detector Program, Citizens Ride-along Program, Fire Education Outreach programs, and Citizens Fire Academy.
