Constructing a New Business Site
- Contact the Community Development Division at 336-626-1201x 2393 or email for additional information or to schedule an appointment to meet with city staff.
- Submit your applications using the permit portal, upload all applicable plans and pay fees upon receipt of a secured payment link emailed to you by city staff.
- Within 5 -10 business days, your plans will be reviewed and comments returned by the city staff technical review committee, comprised of Planning & Zoning, Building Inspections, Fire Inspections, Engineering, Public Works, Police, Fire, Water Resources, and Environmental Services.
- Once your plans are found to be compliant with city codes and policies, permits may be issued, and development may begin.
- During the construction phase, city staff will complete required inspections and be available for assistance.
- At the end of construction, final inspections will occur. If found compliant with approved plans, a Certificate of Zoning Compliance and Certificate of Occupancy will be issued by the Planning & Zoning and Building Inspections departments.
